I am starting a website, and I want it to be a cooperative effort of talented web designers; how do I find 'em

The website will be a comprehensive, one-stop resource for small to medium sized US companies wishing to reach out to world /global markets. Our site will serve as a virtual %26quot;export division%26quot; for our clients, and we will create and manage a dedicated export website for each of our clients for this purpose. We will be able to refer a great deal of business to the designers, SEOs, webmasters, artists, fulfillment services, e-commerce pros, hosting organizations and other web and e-commerce service provides due to our captive relationship with a growing number of clients. In effect, our website will be a profitable, real-time showcasing mechanism for creative, competent, aggressive web professionals who participate in the creation and operation of our %26quot;master%26quot; website. I am certainly amenable to using a number of professionals as part of a cooperative development team. This website, although rather complex, will be a dazzler, as it must. I seek true artists, visionaries and technologists!

You could post this as a project on some of the online sites such as elance.com, guru.com, ifreelance.com or even craigslist.org. These are great resources for finding web designers, programmers etc.

That would be cool, since I%26#039;m creative and artsy, but I am not a webdesigner. Wish I was.

Reply:Look under rocks. We web designers typically flock to environments without direct sunlight. Oh, and bring caffeine... that%26#039;s really the only way to pacify us. Or Pocky. A lot of us really dig Pocky.

Seriously - if you have the capital I would look into a recruitment company. They%26#039;ve already got all the requirements and resumes on hand; no need to do all the dirty work yourselves if you don%26#039;t have to. Be aware that recruitment companies are the real deal, if you%26#039;re not incorporated and able to pay them up front they%26#039;re not even going to thank you for trying as you%26#039;re escorted from the building.

If you don%26#039;t have the capital... well... get used to sorting through piles and piles of crappy websites. Your only real option is to post %26#039;web designers needed%26#039; ads in every available niche and then wade through the volumes of responses for the occasional gem.

Good luck!
Reply:First, for me, you must be an American(in America). I don%26#039;t work with foreigners. Too hard to deal with because I%26#039;m not calling international and I like talking on the phone with the people I work with, and there is no jurisdiction if they scam me. Really, I%26#039;d rather work in person, but it%26#039;s hard to find that without moving.

Then, I must know what your skills are and what is the first project you would like to undertake?

And finally, I will mention that I%26#039;m working on a web-based subscription game and looking for such a conglomeration of talent and partnership.
